Week 5 Previews...

Pac-12 week 4 predictions!

Hello welcome to week 5! Time is flying by in college football as we are into division play and this is where things get interesting and we find out what teams are real. So let’s get into it!

STAN @ WAS- This is a tough one. Stanford has owned Washington in recent years including a 41-0 win in Washington in 2010 and of course last year’s 65-21 loss at Stanford. This year’s Washington team has a complete new defensive scheme and staff. It’s hard because although Stanford won the past few years these teams are different. Washington is playing in Seattle and has the better experience at quarterback. Stanford is faced with the pressure of having to win to keep their 8th ranking. They crumble under pressure Washington wins 21-17.

ASU @ CAL- ASU is feeling good coming off a win. Cal is frustrated and needs this win as they are winless in the PAC-12. I think they somehow pull this one out 24-21 at home.

UCLA @ COLO - Colorado shocked everyone with a win on the road vs WSU last week. I don't believe it happens again. UCLA gets back on track 28-24.

ORST @ ARI - Arizona has a bad taste after getting drilled by Oregon. It doesnt help having a great Oregon State team coming to town. U of A will bounce back in a bug way at home by upsetting 18th ranked Oregon State in the desert.

ORE @ WSU -The offensive juggernaut of Oregon continues to roll. WSU stands no chance even in Seattle. Oregon rolls 42-17.

What we learned from week 4...

What we learned from this weekend’s games in the Pac-12. First off let me start of by saying I went 3-2 in my predictions last week. Which isn’t good but isn’t bad either. It’s above .500 so you should have no problems in trusting my predictions for this season. lol.

1st- We learned the Oregon is who we thought they were (Danny Green voice). Outstanding plays on all phases of the game against Arizona has catapulted them into being ranked 2nd in the nation. They not only held Arizona scoreless but they put up 49! Showing that Arizona although Rich Rod has them moving in the right direction, they have a long way to go before being considered one of the nation’s elite. Elite teams compete on the road and Arizona was completely mismatched on all phases the most obvious being the preparedness and focus. They just looked like the timid shy kid standing trying to compete with the Jock. I almost felt bad almost, but Arizona had their chances. They just simply didn’t take advantage.

2nd-Oregon State is for real. Wisconsin was shut down by Oregon States defense in the week 2 upset but this week’s win showed the offense can make plays when needed. After a fast offensive start the defense did the job of limiting UCLA’s comeback bid. They are now ranked 18th and have beaten ranked opponents at home and the road. Watch out Pac 12 these Beavers are on the rise and could compete for the conference title.

3rd- Colorado has (finally) showed up. After some terrible losses to start the season Colorado has bounced back with their first win being on the road at Washington State. Many including myself thought this would be a cakewalk game for WSU but when you think about it WSU is a program in transition with new coach Mike Leech and when facing a division rival records and rankings can always be thrown out the window. Way to respond for the Buffalos.

We knew USC would bounce back and that Utah is no doubt going to continue to struggle especially on the road. Same goes for Cal. So the ASU win and USC win didn’t really teach us much but I’m happy that I had these predications right. J So until week 4 be easy and relax I got you on this week’s matchups including big game for No. 8 Stanford at Washington! #Stay Tuned

Pac-12 Week 4 Previews 9/18/12 (Starting this week i will preview Pac-12 football for the upcoming weekend)...

ARI @ ORE - Realistically this game had little to no chanceof being competitive heading into the season. The U of A has in three weeksgone from unranked cellar dweller team to the 22nd best team in the nation. Ithas been a surprising turn around on offense. 7th ranked in Passing in thenation and 19th in rushing. This gives them a chance vs. Oregon who has put upa plethora of points this season ranking 5th and U of A is 12th in totalpoints. Also Arizona has an experienced quarterback senior Matt Scott whileOregon starts Red Shirt freshman Marcus Mariota Expect a shootout, but Oregon is at home and is more dynamic in the waythey put up points (special teams) so i believe they have a slight edge overthe cats. I think it’ll be a  45-21 finalscore with the Ducks on top.

ORST @ UCLA - UCLA has made me a believer. The change at QBand the turnaround in winning attitude that head Coach Jim Mora Jr. hasinstalled this season has UCLA looking like a Pac-12 title game contender afterplaying in the inaugural title game last year. However, Oregon State isimproved also. They are coming off a huge upset vs. Big Ten power Wisconsin andthe story was the Defense which only allows 10pts per game. UCLA did also beata Big Ten team by beating Nebraska in a high powered scoring contest. With UCLAbeing on a roll and at home i think the offense is going to make a few moreplays than Oregon States. UCLA wins a close one 17-10.

COLO @ WSU - Colorado has looked terrible this season. At0-3 it doesn’t get any easier taking on division foe Washington State who iscoming off a dominating victory over UNLV. I think although they have struggleda little to start the year Mike Leech has WSU heading in the right direction asa program. They win easily over Colorado 38-10

CAL @ USC - Cal has looked good and bad at certain pointsduring the year. After falling to nevada Cal bounced back with a win, then lost a close one at toguh Ohio State. I see things getting better as the season goes on for Cal. However it won't  won’t be any easy going up against an angry USC squad comingoff being upset by upstart Stanford. USC probably should have won vs. Stanfordand head coach lane Kiffin knows that as well as star QB Matt Barkley. There is no way USC loses two straight gamesthey are supposed to win. USC easily wins 42-14.

UTAH @ ASU -Both teams are 2-1 and want a victory in divisionplay. Both have questions at QB as Utah State starting Sophomore QB Jordan Wynnretired. ASU starter Taylor Kelly had a subpar performance last week and evensplit snaps with backup Freshman QB Michael Eubank. That being said ASU stillhas a great home field advantage and I think it'll be tough for Utah to competewith ASU coming after a close loss they should have closed out so I’m takingthe sun devils 24-13.
